Another one.

Published by josephnotjoe at 1:17 pm under Looking for the man Edit This

There’s this bartender that I’ve mentioned before. Around 40, very handsome, lean, muscle. The man is just hot, and very friendly, and sometimes flirty.

He works Saturday happy hour and while I am there he asks if I want to go to another bar with him with his shift is off. Honestly, I thought he was joking. But sure enough, shift over, he wants to go. So we go.

Now I ask him if he wants to meet me outside and he looks at me like I am crazy. I lay it out for him. If you and I leave here together, every single regular in this bar, including your coworkers are going to assume we are hooking up. He shrugs and says he does not think that the case and who cares anyway. I can’t figure out if he is naive or not.

So we walk over to the other bar, younger better money crowd. Now I am not an ugly man, but along side this guy, he is the better looking of the two. He wants to meet new people, maybe date he says. He tells me that everyone seems to like me and he thinks I am interesting, I would be a good friend, blah, blah, blah.

Gee thanks for the compliment, are you interested in me or not? Many different guys come over to say hi, each and everyone of them asks if we are together. The bartender says nothing, I said we walked over together from the other bar. Two people say we make a cute couple, he just grins and I mention I am single.(well one of the guys who said that is crazy hot, so I have to keep my options open)!

We spend about 4 hours there, talking for the most part. It actually was a nice time. We walked back to his car, he said next time we are going to the big dance bar in town, and that it will be soon. I said ok, he hugged me goodbye, which he has never done and as he’s getting into his car he says he will see me Saturday. Did we make plans for Saturday? I’m so confused.

Last night I stopped at the bar for a minute and of course, everyone and a cousin was talking about the date I had with the bartender the night before. Despite anything I said about it not being a date, people would not hear of it. The story has even grown to him spending the night with me and someone seeing him sneak out of my place the next morning. I just laughed that off, because clearly people are making shit up.

And for the record, nobody has ever sneak out of my place. You get a t-shirt that says ” I spent the night at Joseph’s Loft!” and there is a someone there to take your photo.

Sneak out. Please. That’s a moment to be proud of.
